February 17, 2014: "Soy La Hermana Hosking" -Me...

To open my email...let me explain the title of it..When tracting (knocking on doors) on Saturday, we were talking to a man who had previously had the lessons..We introduced ourselves and when it was my turn, I said, "Soy la Hermana Hosking" O.o  Yep, I introduced myself as Hermana Hosking...Don't ask me why, I have no idea! It's probably because I'm exhausted all the time..
Well...let's start off with some awesome news! Our new companion is Hermana Fletcher! She's so awesome! She came out with Hermana Hosking and they were in the same district in the MTC so we didn't even have to go through the awkward "get to know you" phase of a new companionship.#dreamteam. Hermana Fletcher is from Gilbert, Arizona aka..mormon land in AZ..she's my first companion that isn't from California!
Alright..this week was awesome. as usual.
Funny story: We were tracting in a trailer park and we went up to a porch..then we smelt some doggy poo...There was no answer so we continued onto the next house when we noticed that the smell still stayed with us..Fletcher looked down at her shoes and saw that a leaf was stuck to the bottom of her foot. She lifted her foot and wiped off the leaf. Then she looked at her hand in horror...it was covered in poo..My word, we all laughed SO hard. Thank goodness Hosking had some sanitizing wipes haha!
Now that y'all are holding your abs from laughing so hard, let's talk about some miracles! Church yesterday was great! Sacrament meeting began and we were all sad that it was just Hermana Rodriguez at church..I thought to myself, hey, they're hispanic, they're usually late! While singing the sacrament hymn, I smelt the familiar, strong cologne...HORACIO. I turned around and there he was sitting two rows behind us :) Victor Lopez and Salvador Favela also came :) At the end of church, Victor came up to us with a big smile on his face and a tithing slip in his hand. He said that he was paying his tithing tomorrow :) TEMPLE HERE WE COME.
When we came back from transfer meeting, we met Hermano Policarpo at the library for a lesson. We finished the lesson and began walking to the door with him. At the front of the library was Maria (LA) and her son German (nonmember)..We said hi and German said, "Do you want to teach a lesson now?" We've been trying for the past few weeks to have a lesson with them but it always falls through..So we were excited that he was the one to ask if we could teach! We taught them the Restoration and a few days later we taught them the Plan of Salvation. He's kinda flakey on baptism..But that's ok, we'll continue to work with them :) Line upon line, precept upon precept, right?
On Wednesday night we went to the english class. I sat next to Rosio and asked if Gabby (her amazing, ready-to-be-baptized daughter) was here at mutual. She smiled and said, "Yes." Wahoo! Gabby came and loved it! She's coming again this week and hopefully, she can go to the 5 stake dance on saturday :)
We saw Gabby and Rosio this past Saturday and did a recap on the Restoration. We showed the short 20 minute Restoration dvd and they really enjoyed it..The grandma walked into the trailer at the end and tried telling them that this was all wrong..Gabby and Rosio just looked at her and said, "No! He was a prophet that was called by God!" yayyy!!! Rosio couldn't come to church because she works on Sunday but she applied for a different job this week :) and Gabby couldn't come because her Grandpa came up from Mexico on Sunday :\ But there's always this Sunday!
For Valentine's Day, we had a single ladies dinner at H-Rod's house (Hermana Rodriguez)..She made us Posole (the best thing in the world...it's like a soup) mmmmm..I love her! She's my little hispanic grandma :)
It's finally warming up here! It's been in the 70s for the past few days and it makes our finding efforts so much easier..We were tracting in a trailer park last night and there were some people grilling outside..We introduced ourselves and twenty minutes later, they were stuffing our faces with tostadas :) It was a wonderful answer to our prayers because we had eaten dinner at 3....We were famished!
Well my family, there's much to write but never enough time! I hope yall are having the best time ever! I love you and know that God loves you!
The Church is true!

Do you believe in miracles? Yes!
